Japanese illustrator Ryo Takemasa (previously) has created a series of symmetrical fruit illustrations in collaboration with Hermes, which adorn a new collection of tableware called Kaorumi, meaning the fragrance of fruits in Japanese. Working with a compass and ruler, Takemasa composed perfectly symmetrical shapes that are complimented by delicate shades and textures.

“Kaorumi is a collection of fruit ready to be tasted,” explains the French fashion house. “Sliced kiwi, peeled oranges, and pomegranate wedges are all laid out on white porcelain, which accentuates their vibrant shapes.”
Ryo Takemasa’s perfectly symmetrical details and whimsical proportions transform a botanical study into a feast of fruits. “Their colors are so fresh that the porcelain exudes the aroma and flavor of the fruit or, as it’s known in Japanese, Kaorumi.” You can see the full collection on Hermes’s site.
